Fall Festival

Has your family gone to a Fall Festival or Autumn Harvest before ? They are great fun ! From playing games like bobbing for apples, cake walk and duck pond to finding your way out of a hay maze !  That's my favorite : )  Read "The Fall Festival" by Mercer Mayer to give your child an introduction. Lil Critter experiences all the fun at a Fall Festival. While you're there pick a pumpkin and some apples and make applesauce when you get home !

Crockpot Applesauce

Fill each crockpot with peeled and cut apples for chunky applesauce and peeled and diced apples for a smoother applesauce.
Add some sugar to your taste. Sometimes the sauce doesn't even need sugar.....depends on the type of apple. If I put sugar in, it's usually about 1/2 cup to 1 cup. Depends on the size of crockpot. Add a little cinnamon, put the lid on and set it to LOW. Let it slow cook all day and enjoy the fine aroma of apples and cinnamon !

Pumpkins and Leaves

About a week ago I found some packages of pumpkin doily's and silk leaves at the local Dollar Tree. I'm going to an elderly clients home to make some Autumn cards. I have some card stock of different colors. Just cut the card stock into card size rectangles and glue the pumpkins and silk leaves in a nice arrangement. It looks so festive !

Autumn Harvest

It's almost the first day of Autumn, I can already feel the cool crisp temperature and the leaves are just beginning to show off their colorful hues !
In the coming days I will attempt to post exciting activities to do with your children. There will be craft ideas, recipes, and different learning activities. Some will be on there own and some will be with a story to read to your children. I hope you and yours find the activities fun to do together !
