Mrs. McMurphy's Pumpkin

Do some pumpkin activities like :

Make some Pumpkin Cornbread

1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup pumpkin mash or canned pumpkin
Preheat your oven to 425. Butter a square pan.
Mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder , and salt in a large bowl.
Whisk the egg, milk, and honey in a separate bowl. Whisk in the melted butter; add the pumpkin and pour over the dry ingredients and stir. but do not beat.
Spread the batter into the pan and Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into 6 to 8 squares.

Jack O Popcorn
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2  10oz. packages marshmallows
Orange food coloring paste
15 cups popped popcorn
Chocolate chips, M&M's, fruit leather, or other candies
Black licorice

Melt butter in a nonstick saucepan over medium heat. Add the marshmallows, and stir until melted. Add a few dabs of food coloring paste.
Pour the popcorn nto a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted marshmallows over the popcorn and stir to coat (it will be sticky).
Grease your hands with a dab of butter or margarine; then form the popcorn into balls.
At the top of each popcorn ball, ad a stem: a short piece of licorice.  Press the candies into popcorn ball for eyes, nose and mouth. Or cut the features out of fruit leather.
